GCSE results at LWS Academy continue to see a significant improvement compared to previous years, and we are incredibly proud of our learners’ achievements. This year, our Year 11 learners made, on average, double the progress compared to their peers last year:

Oliver and Rowan broke an LWS record to achieve top grade 7s in History and English Literature, alongside passing eighteen qualifications between them.
Achieving a grade 7 in English Literature, Rowan recorded a strong pass in History and standard passes in English Language, Combined Science, Mathematics, Food Technology and Health and Fitness, securing his place to study Animal Care at Sparsholt College. Oliver accomplished strong passes in English Language, English Literature and Art and standard passes in Maths and Health and Fitness. Oliver will be studying Creative Media at Highbury College.
Resolute Alfie achieves the gold standard after being at LWS for only two years.
Despite joining LWS in Year 9, Alfie passed eight qualifications, recording strong passes in English Language and English Literature and standard passes in Mathematics, History and Health and Fitness. Alfie will be studying Plumbing at Highbury College.
Talented computer engineer-to-be celebrates highest grade ever in Food Technology.
Sean secured his place at Fareham College to study Computer Engineering after passing eight qualifications at grade 3 and above, including a Grade 6 in Food Technology, strong pass in Health and Fitness and standard pass in Art.
Ambitious Year 10s record outstanding results across a range of subjects, despite pandemic disruption.
Ambitious and determined Year 10 learners recorded a total of 34 passes between them in their penultimate year at LWS, with a third of qualifications receiving a standard pass or better.
Aspiring chef celebrates top grades in English Literature and Food Technology.
Rhys Cowx passed four subjects, achieving two grade 6s in English Literature and Food Technology, as well as securing a grade 3 in Media Studies and grade 2 in Art. Rhys wants to study Catering at College before becoming a chef.
Hard working Luke passes six qualifications.
Luke Whitlock achieved two strong passes in English Literature and Food Technology, two standard passes in Art and Media Studies, and secured a grade 3 in Mathematics. Luke wants to study Level 3 Animal Care at Sparshalt College. Having achieved a Level 1 award in Creative Industries, Luke will be undertaking a part time Level 2 course in Creative Media while completing his final year at LWS.
Visionary Ryan achieves early success on his road to entrepreneurship
Ryan Warburton achieved grade 5s in English Literature and Food Technology, as well as securing grade 3s in Media Studies and Mathematics. Ryan wants to set up his own detailing business and is looking forward to undertaking work experience in this area this year to compliment his studies at LWS.
Determined Warren passes his first qualification while studying from home
Warren Tredre was awarded a grade 2 in Food Technology after independently accessing his lessons remotely and preparing for his practical exams. Keen to pursue a career in mechanics or electronics, Warren is keen to complete a foundation course at St Vincent college next year.
